Barrie Fairbairn Solicitors was established in 2004. From 2004 to 2011 the firm traded as a niche criminal practice offering publicly funded representation at the Police Station, Magistrates’ and Crown Courts. A private client service was also offered for Road Traffic allegations.
In 2011 the Firm developed a specialty consumer financial product investigation. We investigate complex domestic re-mortgages. The Firm has the accolade of both enlarging the number of areas of a mortgage which can be complained about and by reducing the threshold by which a claim has prospects of success.
2017 brought a further expansion, again into a niche area of activity. The Firm offers a specialist service to housebuilders and developers who purchase infrastructure from privatised water and power utilities.
We can investigate if the costs and conditions imposed on the developer are reasonable and compliant with the Water Industry Act 1991 (as amended).
Systemic overcharging, when detected and complained about can give rise to substantial compensation payments being made.
We also offer developers a bespoke consultancy service providing advice on their current or intended sites.
In 2015, Barrie Fairbairn Solicitors became Lexcel accredited. Lexcel is the Law Society legal practice quality mark for excellence in legal practice management and excellence in client care.
